Rivalry Week
It’s that time of year again…time to screw each other out of playoff spots and into relegation bowls. Here’s what on the line this year.
Tony vs B Scott
History: The newest of all the rivalries, a relegated Reichert paved the way for B Scott and Tony to meet this year in Rivalry Week and finally settle a 2006 power bill dispute the right way - on the field.
Last Meeting: B Scott won the first matchup between these two earlier this year in week 5 in blowout fashion: 190.82-119.08.
What’s on the Line?: A playoff bye.
All Time: B Scott leads this series 11-4-0.
Hans vs Herriott
History: What exactly went wrong with Peter Asher? Was it the Peter? Or the Asher? That question alone fuels this rivalry.
Last Meeting: Herriott owns bragging rights in this matchup, having narrowly taken down Hans in week 9 136.02-131.50.
What’s on the Line?: A win almost certainly gets Herriott into the playoffs. Hans is mathematically already headed to the relegation playoffs.
All Time: Hans is better than Herriott - at least at head to head. Hans is ahead in this series 11-9-0.
Billy vs Carmen
History: To say these two have been through a lot would be an understatement, but the moment this rivalry started can be traced back to week 13 of 2009 when Carmen benched his players and ultimately made Billy miss the playoffs.
Last Meeting: Carmen took down Billy in week 4 141.38 - 124.40. He has also lost every game since.
What’s on the Line?: A shot at a sneaky 1st round bye for Billy and nothing really at all for Carmen.
All Time: Billy has been dominating this matchup, with an all time record of 15-5-0.
Egon vs Grabs
History: Egon came into the scene in 2012. Since then, he has tried long and hard to get his newsletter to be read by the masses. Grabs has not taken kindly to this.
Last Meeting: Grabs beat Egon 125.86-112.72 in week 8.
What’s on the Line?: An outside shot at the playoffs for Grabs. Egon is already in the Relegation Playoffs.
All Time: This series is tied 6-6-0. Whoever wins this week will take the edge and own the bragging rights.
Smitty vs Sweets
History: Smitty and Sweets go back. Way back. The battle of the RedHawk and the 2 Miami of Ohio friends is the backstory here.
Last Meeting: Sweets took down Smitty in a real barn burner that didn’t reach 200 total points in week 8: 110.26-97.84.
What’s on the Line?: Whoever wins will be seeded no lower than 6th place going into week 13 and own their own playoff destiny. The other could likely not make the playoffs.
All Time: Sweets narrowly has the advantage in this matchup with a 10-8-0 record.
Cox vs Moeller
History: The two leftover players make up this rivalry, and it has long been a battle of two of the worst teams that The League! has ever seen.
Last Meeting: Cox beat Moeller 168.94-142.18 back in week 8.
What’s on the Line?: Cox needs a win to keep a 1st round bye alive. Moeller is Relegation Playoff bound.
All Time: Cox is ahead in this matchup 13-9-0 all time.
