Weekly Recap
Week 13
Bye Bye Billy
Billy pulled out the ultimate sneaky, stealing a playoff bye by winning his 3rd straight game to lose out the regular season in 2nd place.
2000 Club
Tony ended the regular season with another strong performance, bringing his point total for the season above 2000 points for only the 4th time in the modern League! era.
The Dream is Over
Grabs and Herriott both missed out on the #6 spot and had their seasons end this week, ended in 7th and 8th place for the year.
The Rivals Get In
Smitty and Sweets both took care of business this week and made it into the playoffs, even after being the biggest seller and the biggest dormant managers at the trade deadline.
Week 12
6 in a Row
Tony has now extended his winning streak to 6 straight games and is still undefeated as a dad. His latest win pretty much locked up the #1 seed going into the playoffs.
Sneaky Little Buster
Billy has sneakily climbed himself up to the #2 spot and is one win away from getting himself a playoff bye. His team is coming on at the right time, as he also took home his first weekly high point of the season this week.
Playoff Bubble
Smitty, Grabs, Herriott and Sweets all find themselves in the midst of a massive playoff bubble watch scenario. Week 13 will decide the outcomes of all of them.
Super Tame
B Scott’s super team has been anything but super as he is still winless after the trade deadline. He is in must win mode if he wants to get a playoff bye.
8 in a Row
Carmen has now lost 8 straight. And we aren’t entirely sure if he even checks his team anymore. If he doesn’t get relegated it will be the surprise of the year.
Week 11
Relegation Playoffs Set
Barring a Moeller miracle, the seeds 9-12 have fallen into place and will include (in no particular order) Moeller, Egon, Hans, and Carmen.
One Two Three Four 5th!
Tony won his 5th straight game in a row, taking home yet another weekly high points along the way. That makes 5 weekly high points for Tony this year. He had only won 8 weekly highs total coming into the 2020 season.
Slump Buster
B Scott put up his worst point total of the season this week. His second worst outing came last week, giving his new super team a 111 points/game average. Yikes.
7 in a Row
Carmen has now lost 7 in a row, this time by leaving 3 starting positions empty. He has now offically punched his ticket to the Relegation Playoffs and is the odds on favorite to spend 2021 on relegation.
Week 10
Relegation Playoffs Taking Shape
Egon, Hans, Carmen and Moeller are looking like this year’s relegation favorites. Their 3-7 records are 2 wins worse than the 8th place safe zone.
Slow and Boring Wins the Race
Herriott, who made zero moves at the trade deadline, won his second weekly high points this week.
Super Teams Struggle
Tony, B Scott, Cox and Billy came out the gates pretty terribly with their new super teams. They averaged 113 points each, with Cox and Billy getting handed losses.
12 beats 1
Hans pulled off the unthinkable, taking down 1st place Cox by less than 2 points in a 12 vs 1 matchup.
Week 9
Tony Red (Not Hair) Hot!
Tony came back from near Relegation Watch to winning 3 in a row and being back in the top 3.
Sub-100 King
Moeller put up under 100 points in a week for the 3rd time this season, losing to Tony in the biggest blowout of the week.
Dodging Bullets
Herriott dodged a close one this week, narrowly taking down Relegation favorite Hans by just over 5 points. The battle took them all the way to Monday Night football.
Biggest Loser
Carmen extended his losing streak to 5 straight games, this time getting taken down by Cox 139.08-117.62. What once started as a 3-1 season has now turned into a 3-6 season and a likely date for a week 14 matchup in the relegation playoffs.
Week 8
New League! Favorite
Cox has taken over as the favorite to win it all this year.
Lowest Points of the Year
Herriott put up 78.40 points this week, giving him the honor of scoring the lowest points of the year so far. This marks the 9th time this year a team has gone below 100 points in a week.
Up For Grabs
The 6 spot is anyone’s to grab this year, as Grabs has snuck back into 7th place and has a real shot at actually makign the playoffs this year.
Cox Wins First Week of the Year
What started off as the Tony show, the weekly high points has now seen it’s 4th new person winning a weekly high in a row. Cox won it this week, giving him his first win of the year.
Week 7
Two 200 Club Performances
Herriott and B Scott both made it to the 200 Club this weekend. This is the first time two managers have made it to The 200 Club on the same weekend in League! history.
Three Headed Race
While the standings may not show it, there is a clear 3 headed race going on at the top of the standings. B Scott, Cox and Tony are the 3 clear cut favorites to win it all, with a huge drop off between them and the rest of the medicore pack in Sweets, Billy, Smitty and Herriott.
Back to Back Sub-100 Games
Moeller and Carmen topped Hans and Grabs’ last Sub-100 game by putting up an even lower scoring Sub-100 game of their own. This is the first time in league history that Sub-100 games have happened in back to back weeks.
Tony Wins Game 1 as New Dad
Tony took home his first game of parenthood, taking down Hans 173.42-156.46.
Log Jam
Tony, Sweets, Billy and Smitty are tied in the standings right now with a 4-3-0 record between places 3rd-6th. Herriott, Egon, Grabs, Carmen, and Moeller also round out the bottom of the standings and are tied with 3-4-0 records.
They CAN Score Points
Hans and Grabs both put up their highest points of the season this week. Hans eclipsed the 150 point mark for the first time all year while Grabs would have won the weekly high if his 184.06 points had come in weeks 1 or 7
Week 6
Little Sneaky Guy
Sweets has now won 3 in a row and moved from a 1-2 start to 4-2 and in the top 3 for the first time all season. A next week date against Egon could get him to 5-2 and in a potential tie for 1st place with a win.
Worst Beats First
Moeller may have pulled the upset of the season last week, taking down 1st place B Scott as the #12 seed.
Defense Wins Championships
Tony has lost his second straight and dropped into 6th place. While he has the most points scored for the season with 163 points per game, he has also given up the most points of the season at over 150 points per game.
Maybe Draft Grades Are A Thing…
Tony, Cox, B Scott, Sweets, Billy and Smitty had 6 of the 7 top draft grades from this year’s draft. They are also all slated to make the playoffs if the season ended today.
Week 5
Well…That Was Embarassing
B Scott crushed Tony in what was supposed to be a championship preview by a final score of 190.82-119.08. This marked the 2nd biggest blowout of the season and put B Scott in the driver seat in 1st place for the first time this season.
He’s On The Board!
Hans took home his first win of the season this week, beating Smitty in what turned out to be the garbage matchup of the week.
New Relegation Favorite
Moeller has dropped down as the new League! favorite to be relegated this winter. He earns the honor after picking up his 4th straight loss and trading away the only top 10 player he had to Herriott.
Point Implosion
Points were lacking this week as Smitty, Moeller and Carmen all barely eclipsed the 100 point mark and found themselves each moving down the standings.
Week 4
And Then There None
Pending a stat correction, Smitty took home his first loss of the season this week and ended the perfect season watch. He was taken down by Cox by just over 1 point.
We Get It…You’re Good
Tony took home yet another weekly high points in week 4, bringing his total this season to 3 weekly wins. He narrowly missed back to back 200 club performances, falling just 4.4 points short.
Strong Hold
Smitty, Tony and Cox remain at the top of the leaderboard in their pursuit of their first bobblehead.
Double Digit Win
B Scott finally took home his first double digit win of the season, taking down Herriott by 25 points. His matchups in weeks 1,2 and 3 were all decided by less than 10 points.
How’s He Doin’ This?!
Carmen won his 3rd game of the season, moving him to 5th place with a 3-1-0 record. Not a bad start for someone that left the draft in the 7th round.
Week 3
And Then There Was 1
Even after the Injury Bug smoked his team, Smitty remains the last unbeaten team of the season after Carmen went down this week to B Scott. He has a daunting schedule coming up, playing Cox (3rd place), B Scott (4th place) and Carmen (5th place) in 3 of the next 4 weeks. If he can get through that gauntlet, we might be talking about the first perfect regular season ever.
You Can Find Me in the Club
Tony took home his second highest points in Week 3 in impressive fashion, getting to the 200 club for the 2nd time in his team’s history by putting up the 5th highest points The League! has ever seen.
Lawyering Up
In the first three weeks, Tony and Smitty, who came into the year tied with Egon for lowest weekly high points all time with 8, have won back to back to back weeks.
What Is Going On?!
Smitty, Tony and Cox find themselves again in 1st, 2nd and 3rd place including the three highest total points. They are 3 of the 4 teams that have never won a League! championship and are looking more and more like real contenders to take home a bobblehead.
Dumpster Fire
There is a real dumpster fire brewing at the bottom of the standings with Hans and Grabs both 0-3 and averaging under 120 points per game. Moeller has also found his way into the mix as being the 3rd most likely candidate for the Relegation Playoffs.
Week 2
And Then There Were 2
Smitty and Carmen remain as the only two unbeaten teams left in the 2020 season, while Hans and Grabs remain the only two teams still searching for their first win.
New Favorite
If you thought 2020 couldn’t get any weirder, Tony has now moved himself passed B Scott as the new League! favorite to win it all.
The Worst Getting Better?
In the first two weeks, Tony and Smitty, who came into the year tied with Egon for lowest weekly high points all time with 8, have won back to back weeks and have made Egon the sole owner of least weekly high points ever scored.
Down Goes Everyone
The injury bug struck hard this week, but no one is going to feel it as badly as Smitty. He lost Mr. #1 pick, Christian McCaffrey, for the foreseeable future and saw his 5th round pick, Courtland Sutton, sent to IR. His 1st place standing may not last much longer than this week.
Saquon is also now done for the season, making Egon’s hopes of winning back to back to championships shift from slim to almost none.
Tight Race
Tony (3rd), Sweets (4th), B Scott (5th), Cox (6th), Billy (7th), Egon (8th), Herriott (9th) and Moeller (10th) are all tied with 1-1-0 records after week 2 with the difference between 4th, 5th and 6th place being decided by just over 1 point.
Biggest Fall
Moeller and Sweets played in the battle of the best and worst draft grades. Best Draft won, as Sweets showed up and sent Moeller down 6 spots from 4th to 10th place in the biggest fall in the standings we saw this week.
Week 1
New Champ?!
Tony, Cox, Smitty and Moeller all won their week 1 matchups and are currently sitting in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place. They are also the only 4 teams left in The League! that have never won a bobblehead. Will a new champ be crowned this winter??
Draft Grade Shmaft Grade
4 of the 6 teams that received a C or lower as their draft grades won their week 1 matchups. Only Tony and Cox, the teams with the top 2 draft grades, were victorious in week 1 with a grade higher than a C.
Single Digit Victories
Egon, Cox and Moeller all won their matchups by less than 10 points. That ties the most single digit victories in week 1 in league history. Moeller vs Billy was the lowest for the week, with a 1.78 margin of victory.
Lucky/Unlucky Matchups of the Week
Carmen had the second lowest points for the week. Fortunately he was paired up against Grabs, who had and will probably continue to have the lowest points for the week.
B Scott had the 3rd highest points this week, only to be bested by Cox who had the 2nd highest points of the week.
They Are Who We Thought They Were
Grabs and Hans had the two worst performances of the week and are the frontrunners for the 2020 Relegation Bowl. They currently sit at 11th and 12th, the same spots they were ranked during the preseason.
