Playoff Perfect
Egon hasn’t been much of a win machine when it comes to the regular season, posting a meager .442 winning percentage. But when playoff time rolls around, Egon has been perfect. Literally.
In his two playoffs trips, Egon has never lost a game. He is a perfect 6-0-0, including a playoff run last year that may go down as the greatest The League! will ever see.
Year | Opponent | Week | Outcome |
---|---|---|---|
2015 | Smitty | Quarterfinals | Win |
2015 | Grabs | Semifinals | Win |
2015 | B Scott | Finals | Win |
2019 | Smitty | Quarterfinals | Win |
2019 | Grabs | Semifinals | Win |
2019 | Hans | Finals | Win |
Egon’s perfect 6-0 playoff record
Sitting with a 1-6-0 record and only 6 games left in the regular season, Egon should have been preparing for his 3rd Relegation Bowl. Instead, he was determined to find his way back to another bobblehead like Saroo trying to find his way back home. Egon rallied his team to three wins in a row, upping his record to 4-6-0. Still a long shot at making the playoffs, he decided to attempt the unimaginable.
Egon made a splash at the trade deadline and went on to finish the season with a 6-7-0 record and the points leader in a three way tie for 6th place. He had done it. But he wasn’t done yet. Egon took down heavy regular season favorite Smitty, then Grabs, and finally destroyed Hans in the finals to pull off the single greatest championship season in league history.
Egon has averaged nearly 160 points per game during his two championship runs. That’s over 30 points better than his regular season totals. So what’s his secret? When Egon has been perfect, there’s one common thread connecting it all.
Trap Queen, a Billboard top hit by Fetty Wap, has been Egon’s selection of choice for his draft song in both 2015 and 2019. Both years he opened the season to “1738,” and both years he walked away a champion. Trap Queen may have only made it to #2 on the Billboard charts, but it’s made it to #1 on The League! charts. Twice.
Everybody hatin we just call them fans though, in love the money I ain’t never lettin go. Words Egon has come to live by. If “1738” is heard on draft day this year, the other league managers better be prepared to bring their A game.
