Billy Wins His 3rd Bobblehead!

Billy’s improbable comeback puts an exclamation point on one of the wildest championships in League! history.

A 50 point Monday night hole proved to be no match for Billy’s bad back as he took it, took it to Tony on his way to hoisting his 3rd bobblehead in 5 years.

Tony came out of the championship gates red hot thanks to 6 TDs on the feet of Alvin Kamara’s Christmas shoes. The early deficit left Billy playing from behind all weekend, at one point having a 1% chance of winning according to Yahoo. That percentage slowly grew up until 13:16 in the 4th quarter of Monday Night Football when Billy took the lead and never looked back, winning by 1.62 in the closest championship in League! history.

Tony’s 185.84 were the highest points ever scored by a loser in a championship game. Billy’s 187.46 points ended up being the 2nd highest points ever scored. It was the highest scoring championship of all time.

The win gives Billy his 3rd bobblehead in 5 years and ties him with B Scott for the most bobbleheads all time.

Billy’s 2020 win puts him in a tie for most bobbleheads all time

Billy was off the championship radar for the majority of the regular season. He came into the season under the radar with a full set of draft picks for the first time since 2016. At no point was he the favorite to win it all. He stumbled out of the gates with 2 losses in the first 4 weeks to teams that eventually went to the Relegation Playoffs.

His late season surge can be summed up in two words. Winter. Meetings.

With the last trade of the deadline, Billy made his biggest splash - upgrading his WR and RB positions. He had previously traded with Grabs to upgrade his TE as well.

Treading water prior to the deadline, Billy’s team was averaging 141 points per game and had 0 weekly wins. After the deadline, he averaged 182 points per game, including winning 2 of the final 4 weekly high points.

Billy finished the season 5-1 after the trade deadline, including his 2 playoff wins.

This was not the first, nor will it likely be the last time Billy has gone all in at the deadline. In 2016 and 2018 he used a similar strategy, selling the farm at the deadline for a chance at bobblehead glory. In 2020 he hit the trifecta, going all in again and becoming a perfect 3 for 3 on winning it all after going all in.

On the losing end, the championship win leaves Tony behind with Moeller, Cox and Smitty as the only managers remaining that have never won it all.

The repeat may be hard to come by next year as Billy will be coming into the season without a 2nd or 3rd round pick.

For now though, congratulations Billy on an incredible comeback and a championship well deserved.
