The Relegators are League! Champs

The King of Relegation no more…Mr. Tony is this year’s League! Champ.

The lights proved to not be too blinding for Tony as he took that, took that bobblehead in one of the wicky wicky wildest seasons that The League! will ever see.

There was no turf toe excuse needed in this one. Tony set the pace early and came out of the championship gates red hot. Thanks to Alvin Kamara’s Christmas shoes and 6 TDs, Tony took the lead early from Billy and never looked back. He never trailed at any point throughout the weekend.

Billy’s (points) were the highest points ever scored by a loser in a championship game. Tony’s 185.84 points ended up being the 2nd highest points ever scored. It was the highest scoring championship of all time.

The Relegators 2020 Championship Lineup

Prior to this year, Tony came into the season with the longest playoff drought in league history. He hadn’t finished any season higher than 8th place in almost a decade and was ranked 13th in winning percentage, 12th in average place, and 11th in points per game.

He will be leaving the 2020 season ranked higher in each of those categories and with one massive bobblehead under his belt.

Tony racked up all sorts of accolades on his way to bobblehead glory. He finished with 5 weekly high points (including the highest score of the season), a 200 club entrance, 2000+ regular season points, a 6 game winning streak, and in The Commish’s opinion, Draft Song of the year. Jam.

Tony’s record breaking 2020 stats

Tony’s 2020 success can be traced all the way back to Draft Day. Like Kevin Costner coming for David Putney, Tony took Draft Day by storm. He quietly ended up with an A- draft grade - the highest draft grade of the year and the first time Tony received anything higher than a B.

He continued his roster bolstering success by taking Winter Meetings by storm, adding 4 players to his roster. 3 of those 4 players ended up being near top 5 players at their respective positions.

Tony’s final offensive roster

The season started in true bed pooping fashion. Tony stumbled out of the gates with a 3-3 record and at risk of missing the playoffs for the 10th straight season.

He then turned it on in week 7, stringing 6 wins together in a row and going almost perfect as a dad. The winning streak was enough to take home a 1st place regular season finish and more importantly, a first round bye.

Tony’s only losses came to teams that eventually made the playoffs.

In the playoffs, Tony tried to poop the bed in the Semifinals by putting up his 4th lowest points of the season. Luckily, he was paired up against Cox, who was the clear weakest link of this year’s playoff contenders.

Once kickoff came for the Championship, Tony was ready. He took the lead early and never looked back.

Tony leaves behind Moeller, Cox and Smitty as the only managers remaining that have never won it all. He also enters the record books as the first dad to win it all.

With the bobbleheadless monkey off his back, the future should be brighter for the former Relegation king. Without a 1st and 2nd rounder next year though, he may be retaking his thrown as Relegation Watch surely awaits in 2021.

For now though congratulations Mr. Tony on a season well plated and a championship well deserved.
