Are You Not Entertained?

In case he hasn’t had the chance to remind you lately, B has won a lot of bobbleheads. So many that he is currently the League! leader with three. There are a lot of stat categories to be first in, but some could argue that bobbleheads is really the only one that matters.

Sure, he might be 7th in points per game and 4th in winning percentage. To a lot of people, that’s not important. What’s important is that in his 14 seasons in The League!, B has accumulated the most bobbleheads on his mantle and is the only manager to win bobbleheads in back to back seasons.

B didn’t come out of the gates looking like he was going to be the spainiard that he’s become. In his first year in 2006, he finished the season in 11th place with a 4-9-0 record. It took him a couple years to get his rhythm going and he finally hit his stride by winning his first bobblehead in 2009 with an 11-2-0 record. He wasted no time getting his second one the very next year. It very well could have been a three peat, as he finished the regular season in 2008 in 1st place with an insane 12-2-0 record. Unfortunately that wasn’t his year, as he went on to finish in 4th place.

While he has put up the most championship wins in league history, B has been in a little bit of a holding pattern since he won his 3rd bobblehead in 2013. Since that time, he has seen Carmen, Billy and Egon all close the gap on him with two bobbleheads of their own. Whether it is the longest championship hangover the world has ever seen or he has gotten too comfortable in the driver seat, B looks to regain some of his early career success this season.

When B was winning, he was crushing. He made it to the playoffs every year during his record run from 2008-2013. During that time, he took home three bobbleheads in a five year span. Since then, he has only made the playoffs 50% of the time and has spent a couple of those off seasons running with Tony and Co. in the relegation playoffs. He narrowly escaped his first Relegation Bowl last year as he took down his long time rival Da Biscuit in a matchup that extended all the way to Monday Night Football.

Getting back on track and hoisting a 4th bobblehead would go a long way in cementing his legacy as The League!’s greatest manager of all time. Although he did taper off since his last bobblehead in 2013, he has knocked on the door a few times - getting all the way to the finals in 2015 and 2017. Nerves got the best of him both times, as he lost to Egon in 2015 by putting up 107.20 points and again in 2017 to Carmen by putting up a whopping 83.36 points. If he can find a way to pull it together this year and use the insane draft picks he has coming into it, The League! might be seeing it’s first hypnotic dynasty.
